June is CPR Awareness Week

June 1-7th is National CPR and AED Awareness week. The American Red Cross stresses that every second counts in cardiac arrest and people can save lives by knowing how to perform CPR. If you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you love. Be the difference for your child, spouse, or parents. What if it were them?  Did you know that about 70% of out of hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home?

At the end of the day are all injuries preventable? No, but we can prevent what’s in our control. It’s a delicate balance of controlling what we can, and weighing the risks when we can’t. Learn the two simple steps of hands-only CPR if you witness someone suddenly collapse. Call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest until help arrives.

To register for a CPR course visit The American Red Cross.

Together let’s help save a life.
